there is some vignetting (maybe 10%) on the PZT. Also, perhaps slight defocus due to mounting of PZT mirror. need to loosen screws and NEED TO REALIGN THIS SUBSYSTEM.

2013July JDM Observing Logs


Goals

  • Install new wolverine2
  • fix mirc spooler bugs that cause loss of ople communication


Punch List

lab --- do super careful alignment of pzt feed on worst beam

check for pzt distortion using engineering beam on all beams

try to improve grounding on mirc?

  • go rid of many peaks by moving mirc ground from the overhead pipe to the champ enclosure which is isolated by 3 chokes. maybe we need more chokes.


turn on vega camera and check interfermetence.

measure flux and xchan ratios for each beam with WL source.

check tiptlit centers.

clean up wolverine python.

  • unify mirc branches fb thinks python2.7 code will run fine.
  • cleanup so we have a porpoer svn checkout version running under wolverine /devl and observe is linking to the /devel files.
  • same for champ



Bug/Wish List

  • default values of shuttermatrix
  • get telescope beram order from chara shomehow for mirc and champ, including new buttons on guis.
  • proper slts/prsm labels in fiberexplorer
  • fix defaults (ftgui, mric shutter matrix)
  • mirc: save xy and Z of fiber positions
  • save POPS in mirc header
  • mirkwood server should start w/0 vme on
  • mirkwood spooler should run w/o all servers up (opler/tiptilt, etc)
  • (recent) Delay line positions
  • FIXED fix zeros in uv coordinates FIXED!!
  • send ople a target time instead of 0 0 0 0 0 0 (not needed.. just use the HA which is returned)....
  • mirc and champ: replace pulldown menus and text boxes with other elements.
  • champ: ability to algin in wide field mode.
  • champ. fix stop exposure crap (hard)
  • champ. save syncronized spooler data even for large strokes
  • champ. test phase tracking mode
  • champ filter SPIKES out of amplitude(t) gui plots





Theo Questions

  • client read socket in socket.c .. shouldn't there be sleep in this loop?
  • we use sockman for ople but get same port number to use. normal?

  • FB found problem with memory alloc in spooler. yay!
