starting list.
1. Wiki: * Create jdm daily (this)
- update global champ todo this
- update observing Logs for champ mirc
2. align light source (luminos) for champ optimization
3. check bootstrap6 code
- done. fixed bug
4. jdm stretch test (mirc GDT)
- it works!!
5. sabattical prep (send guy by monday morning)
- done. sent guy draft
6. bug hunt accumulation
- no luck.... possibly memory problem elsewhere in code.
7. check fluxes for climb/champ
- climb 2010Jul13. hd 192985. 500hz sampling. flux: 123/170/126 sum counts on B1,B2,B3. nz 4.0 cts
- champ 2011May20 hd 192985. 500hz sampling. flux: ~120,120 sum counts on B3,B4. nz 3.3 cts.
8. check npix_fringe >4 for wrap around and ft-PHI estimators.
- done. it works!
9. ADD RT-TIME for MIRC/CHAMP and test with simultaneous lab fringes.
- not done yet.
10. find new opdmap based on on-sky data. Sky wavelegnth was 1.045 X longer than the lab. assume lab was 2.15, then sky is 2.247.
- did one beam so far. need to think about how to implement this generally.

high humidity today. likely good day to do some throughput alignment and focus tests.
today's goals:
- setup white light source. DONE.
- feed light into champ. check focus. Based on my notes L4R4 seem ok, L1R1 seemed bad. [but maybe poor alignment... careful!]
we found we could use engineering beam for this. does not suffer from 2nd spot and it 20x brighter. we can use a POS1 (instead of POS4) in white light source to have good flux at high frame rate on CHAMP. We used this so far to focus L3 and R3. We used the 1/2 aperture (12-13 mm) and had to move L3 (Top4-H, +9? turns CW) and R3 (Top2-M, +12 turns CW). We got ~47% on L3 and 43% in peak on R3. This is not too bad.. for 12mm aperture we predict best case of 44%/55% for 12mm/14mm beam.... although opening up to full beam did not seem to yield higher %% as we would like to expect.
- debug mirc fringe straightening code with xiao.test of b34 fringes
- set RTIME on champ/mirc. and test using fringes!
- fix champ/mirc delays with respect to chara system.

last night. we did J band check for CHAMP. We installed a reflective mirror in beam 3. beam 4 had j/h pass dicroice, which acts about about ND 1.5.
The metorlogy laser light (1.319mu) was pretty diffiuse for beam 3 W1 (spot R4) and amounted to ~500 counts/sec per pixel in fast mode (1200Hz frame time). Beam 4 W2 (spot R4), the laser light was more focalized, and was 300cts/sec at peak (with dicroic that acted likd ND 1.5). this suggests the peak counts for B4W2 is more like 5000 or so at fast rate (that is high).
Putting ND2 filter in the B3W1 counts reduced to 5 cts/pixel and .
Putting ND 3filter in , b3W1 2 counts/pixel.
PUtting ND 3 filter in , B4W2 3 cts. (+nd 1.5 from dicroic too).
So.. to have metrology laser light be =10 cts for slow mode (250Hz sampling), then we have to have for B3: ND 3.3 for B4: ND=5.
so this seems do-able with the filter I am working on with Henry Orr
