I talked with Tom Schneider of riptiderealtime.com who has been working
with Theo CHARA to write the RT linux driver for the Astrocam fiber board.

He told me lots of things.

It has manual and explanation of theory of operation. **IMPORTANT**

Re: RT Linux installation.
He told me that I should get  big cache on the pentium (L2 512K).
Avoid Red Hat 7.2 (compiler problems).

The CHARA version of code has been working with Red Hat 6.2, with the
2.4.4 kernel, and RT Linux 3.1; and uses lots of CHARA RT Hooks I will
need.  He says it should work fine under Red Hat 7.1.

I will need to talk with Nils/Theo about installing the CHARA environment
He also has his own version of driver that works outside of CHARA
environment (costs extra money?)
